Brief description of the department

The department was set up in 1964 under a decree of the USSR Gosplan as to the organization aimed to develop unified standards (norms) and methods of strength analysis for chemical and petrochemical equipment.

Achievements

Standards and norms (GOST, OST, RTM, RD) for strength analysis of chemical equipment which are not inferior to similar ducuments developed in Germany, England, the U.S.A., France have been developed.

A complex of the standards and norms developed covers strength analysis of practically all the types of equipment for all the loads existing in chemical machine building.

A considerable scope of work on extension of equipment safe operation and development of work procedures has been conducted. As a result, NIICHIMMASH has become one of the leading organization for carrying out diagnostics of equipment under jurisdiction of RF Gosgortechnadzor.
